Romania Unveils Its Largest Photovoltaic Park Featuring Cutting-Edge Panels

Bucharest – On April 29, Romania inaugurated its largest photovoltaic park in Teiuş, Alba County, with a total investment of €55 million, including €15 million in non-reimbursable funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). This facility is set to generate enough clean energy to supply over 25,000 households each year.

The Teiuş photovoltaic park features a tracker system that enables the solar panels to follow the sun’s path throughout the day, optimizing energy production. It consists of 120,276 photovoltaic modules and is expected to produce around 103.59 GWh of electricity annually, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 37,000 tons.

The project is a collaboration between Danish renewable energy operator Eurowind Energy and Teiuş Solar S.R.L.

Additionally, Eurowind Energy announced plans for a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 116.96 MWh, estimated to cost about €43 million, including €7.6 million from PNRR funds. This storage facility is anticipated to be operational by the end of next year.

MEP Siegfried Mureşan, Vice President of the European People’s Party (EPP), emphasized the importance of prioritizing the completion of PNRR-funded projects, noting that Romania has received pre-financing along with three tranches from PNRR, placing it in the middle tier among EU member states. “I urge the authorities to ensure that all funding for mature projects, which can be completed by the August 31, 2026, deadline, should come from the grant component, allowing us to access all available non-reimbursable funds. The government’s focus should now be on speeding up the implementation process,” he stated in an interview with AGERPRES.

Mureşan highlighted that European funds have contributed significantly to Romania’s development in recent years, quadrupling the average income level since the country joined the EU.

Oh, splendid! Nothing screams progress like installing hundreds of solar panels in a field while we still debate whether to fix the potholes in Bucharest. 😏 Just imagine the electricity bill we’ll save—if only we could power our politicians’ promises with it!

Oh, brilliant! Nothing says “we’re ready for the future” quite like a gigantic solar park in a country where, I must say, the only thing more abundant than sun is bureaucracy! ☀️💼

Just what we needed, a giant solar park—because nothing screams innovation like following the sun like a well-trained puppy! 🌞💸 Must be nice to harness the power of the sun while we’re still trying to figure out how to harness the power of, you know, basic public services. 😂

Imagine that: Romania’s biggest solar park, making energy like it’s a bakery churning out pastries! 🥐 Who knew chasing the sun could be so lucrative? Next up, they’ll have the panels debating EU policies on energy efficiency while sipping espresso! ☕️😏

Oh joy, another photovoltaic park in Romania! Just what we needed—because nothing screams innovation like chasing the sun while hoping it doesn’t rain, right? ☀️💸

Just what we need—another solar park complete with fancy panels and a hefty price tag. I suppose now we can power our wi-fi while we argue about the weather over a nice cup of coffee ☕️.

Oh, fantastic! Nothing screams “cutting-edge technology” like a solar park that can finally help us look good while we bask in the sun—who needs beach holidays when you’ve got 120,276 panels to marvel at? 😂🌞

Just what we needed, a massive solar park to finally light up those dark Romanian winter evenings! 😏 Can’t wait for the sun to do all the work while we sit back and watch our taxes get “efficiently” spent on shiny panels.
