Putin Declines to Attend Peace Talks with Zelenskyy in Turkey

A Kremlin aide will attend Ukraine peace talks despite lack of Putin response to ceasefire

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not publicly responded to a recent ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. However, according to a social media post by U.S. President Donald Trump, who has been pressing for a negotiated settlement, Putin is reportedly opposed to any ceasefire agreement. Despite this, Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept the offer, and Zelenskyy is expected to participate in the upcoming talks.

Trump has expressed interest in joining the negotiations as well — but only if Putin chooses to attend, according to his special envoy, Keith Kellogg.

The war has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and Putin remains wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes related to the conflict.

Despite Putin’s absence, a Russian delegation led by Vladmir Medinsky, a close aide to the president, will still travel to Istanbul to participate in the scheduled negotiations, according to an official Kremlin announcement.

Looks like Putin’s playing a game of ‘hide and seek’ with peace talks—someone tell him it’s not a game of chess, mate. 🧐 But hey, sending an aide is like sending a substitute teacher to a final exam—good luck with that! 😏

Oh, marvellous! It seems the big man in the Kremlin has his calendar booked with more important matters, like perfecting his poker face. But don’t worry, we’ll just send a backup—because nothing says “peace talks” like a lack of actual participation. 😏💼

So, Putin’s skipping out on peace talks like a bad date, while his aide plays the role of a stand-in at a terrible rom-com. 🍿 Can’t wait to see how that goes—maybe they’ll just swap war stories over tea instead! 😂

Ah, the classic game of political hide-and-seek! 🤷‍♂️ Who knew the path to peace involved more dodging than a game of football in the pub? Let’s just hope Medinsky can handle the negotiations as well as he handles the vodka. 🍸

Oh, splendid! Nothing says “let’s negotiate for peace” like sending a stand-in while playing hide-and-seek with the whole world. 🎭 Maybe next time, Putin could send a highly trained pigeon instead—wouldn’t that be just as effective? 🕊️

Oh, splendid! Just when you thought the Kremlin was short on humor, they send a stand-in to peace talks—because who needs the main act when you’ve got the understudy ready to fumble, right? 🤷‍♂️💼
