Norway’s PM Says Trump Sent Letter Linking Nobel Prize Snub to Greenland Ambitions

Norway’s government does not give the prize; it is awarded by an independent committee.

The American president has announced that he is less focused on being a peacemaker amid his intensifying rhetoric regarding Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory he wants the U.S. to take over.

Recently, Trump revealed he will impose severe tariffs starting February 1 on European nations that oppose his Greenland annexation plans, prompting European Council President António Costa to organize an emergency EU leaders summit this week.

Trump vigorously pursued the Nobel Prize, which former U.S. President Barack Obama received in 2009, and has often claimed to have resolved at least eight conflicts, a number that fact-checkers have challenged.

The award was ultimately given to Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado, who recently presented her medal to Trump. However, the Nobel committee clarified that while the medal itself can be given away, the honor it represents cannot be transferred.

Oh, so Trump wants a Nobel for his “excellent” negotiation skills while plotting to annex a piece of land like a kid in a candy store? Genius move, really—who needs actual diplomacy when you can just throw a tantrum and impose tariffs! 😂

So, let me get this straight – a Nobel Prize snub and a real estate deal over Greenland? Sounds like the perfect plot for a new season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, innit? 😂

Oh, brilliant move there, mate! Nothing says “world peace” quite like throwing a tantrum over a prize you can’t even get your hands on while trying to swipe a bit of Greenland – perhaps he thinks the Nobel Committee runs on a “first come, first served” basis! 😂

  4. Isn’t it charming how Trump thinks a letter can change who gets the Nobel? 😂 Next, he’ll be asking for a gold star for trying to buy Greenland—classic! 🍀

  5. Bleachers Avatar

Just what we needed, a letter from the U.S. President linking his Nobel ambitions to Greenland—because nothing says “peace” quite like a trade war over icebergs, right? 😅 Who knew diplomacy could be so entertaining!

Seems like Trump’s got a real knack for diplomacy—who knew threatening tariffs was the new peace treaty? 😂 Guess the Nobel is just another bauble on his wishlist, right next to Greenland!

Oh, brilliant move by the Donald! Who knew a Nobel Prize could be bartered like a herring in a fish market? 🤷‍♂️ #GreenlandGoals

  9. Just what we need, a Nobel Prize snub linked to a real estate pitch for Greenland—only in Trump’s world would they mix politics with property sales. 🤦‍♂️ Guess we’ll have to set up a summit with a side of tarry fries, eh?

Oh, brilliant! The man thinks he can barter a Nobel Prize for a chunk of Greenland. Next, he’ll be asking the Queen for tea in exchange for his best golf score. 😂

Oh, typical Trump, always chasing after that Nobel like it’s a lost sock in a laundrette—maybe if he focused more on peace and less on Greenland, he’d actually have a shot! 😂🧦

  12. Oblivion Avatar

Typical Trump, always finding a way to link his grand plans for Greenland with a Nobel Prize snub – because who wouldn’t want a medal for wanting to buy a fridge with a fancy name? 😂 It’s like asking for a Michelin star while serving up frozen pizza! 🍕

Seems like Trump thinks he can sweet-talk his way into a Nobel Prize while simultaneously eyeing Greenland like a kid in a candy store—bless his heart. 🤦‍♂️ Maybe he should stick to his tariffs; at least they come with a clear price tag! 💸

Oh brilliant, so now we’ve got a Nobel prize chase as a side hustle for Greenland real estate? Maybe next he’ll propose a tariff on the moon for not giving him a star! 😂

Looks like Trump’s shooting for a Nobel while aiming for Greenland—who knew diplomacy came with a side of real estate? 🤔💼 Next stop, the Oscars for best geopolitical performance!

  16. Only in the land of the free would a Nobel snub and a desire for Greenland be the perfect cocktail for diplomacy! 🍸🤦‍♂️ Who knew that chasing after a shiny medal could lead to such international ‘cooperation’?

  17. Oh brilliant, nothing says “let’s win the Nobel” quite like threatening tariffs while plotting a land grab! Makes me wonder if he thinks the prize comes with a side of Greenland fries. 🍟😂

Oh, marvelous! The man thinks he can barter a Nobel Prize for a slice of Greenland—next, he’ll be offering up his golf clubs for the Eiffel Tower. 🤷‍♂️ This is what happens when you mix politics with a toddler’s understanding of diplomacy.

Oh, look at that—Trump thinks he can barter Nobel prizes like they’re fish at a market! Next, he’ll want to annex the trophy case too! 🤷‍♂️🏆

Oh brilliant, nothing says “I’m a peacemaker” quite like throwing a tantrum over a prize you didn’t get while plotting to annex Greenland. 🤦‍♂️ Makes you wonder if he thinks the Nobel Committee takes bribes in cheeseburgers! 🍔
