Mette F Calls on Trump to Initiate Direct Talks with EU Nations Regarding Oil Imports

President Donald Trump should reach out directly to European nations that continue to import Russian oil.

These nations have established good relations with him.

This was the message from Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during the Social Democrats’ annual meeting in Aalborg on Saturday.

– There are European nations that are still importing oil, she noted.

– Furthermore, these are countries with which he has connections, so I hope he will influence those that have different energy policies compared to Denmark.

For instance, Hungary and Slovakia still receive oil from Russia, and their leaders maintain good relations with Trump.

On Saturday, Trump criticized NATO strongly.

He expressed willingness to impose sanctions on Russia if other NATO countries also take further actions against it.

He specifically pointed out that several NATO nations continue to import Russian oil.

– As you are aware, NATO’s efforts to secure a victory have not been fully effective, and the purchases of Russian oil by certain countries have been shocking, he stated on his social media platform, Truth Social.

– This significantly undermines your negotiating position and power against Russia, Trump added.

Frederiksen emphasized that she believes the American president is reiterating a point already recognized.

He aligns perfectly with Denmark’s stance.

– I actually agree with the president on this, she stated.

She further clarified that this topic is discussed directly with the United States.

– This is something we talk about with the Americans.

Oh, brilliant idea, Mette! Let’s just have Trump dial up Hungary and Slovakia for a little chit-chat about oil imports—because nothing says “European diplomacy” like a game of international telephone with a former reality TV star. 😂

Right, because nothing says “let’s solve the energy crisis” quite like a good ol’ chat with Trump over a pint of oil, eh? 🍻 Who wouldn’t want to take energy advice from a guy who thinks sanctions are just fancy stickers? 🤷‍♂️
