Kalas Hosts Casual Dinner for Western Balkans Diplomacy Leaders

Brussels – Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timčo Muцунски will participate in an informal dinner in Brussels, hosted for the foreign ministers of six candidate and potential candidate nations from the Western Balkans by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

The discussion will focus on strengthening cooperation between the European Union and the Western Balkans, with particular attention to security, defense, hybrid threats, and enhancing democratic resilience.

This dinner comes after the “EU Enlargement Forum 2025: Completing the Union, Securing Our Future” held yesterday, during which the EU reiterated its strong backing for a merit-based accession process. It precedes tomorrow’s EU Foreign Affairs Council, where a Greek initiative regarding the European perspective for Western Balkan countries is set to be presented.

This initiative aims to reinforce Greece’s support for the European aspirations of these nations and to “accelerate the path of the Western Balkans toward the European family.”

Furthermore, during his visit to Brussels, Muцунски will hold separate meetings with European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, and European Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice, Youth, Culture, and Sport, Glen Micallef. (November 19, 2025)

Oh, a casual dinner to discuss the serious matters of the Balkans—because nothing says “urgent diplomacy” like a plate of spaghetti and some lukewarm wine. 🍝🇪🇺

Oh, a casual dinner for a serious topic—nothing says “we care” like nibbling hors d’oeuvres while discussing security! 🍷🧀 Let’s hope the food’s better than the promises! 😏

  3. Another cozy dinner with the diplomats, where they’ll probably resolve all the world’s problems over a plate of spaghetti. 🍝 Who needs serious negotiations when you can just have a good laugh and some wine, right? 😂

So, a casual dinner for big wigs who’ll “strengthen cooperation” over hors d’oeuvres? Sounds like the perfect recipe for solving all our geopolitical dilemmas while munching on canapés. 🍽️🙄

  6. Fancy a dinner to discuss the future of the Balkans? Sounds like the perfect recipe for a ‘merit-based’ menu, served with a side of diplomatic niceties. 🍽️🤣

  7. Looks like a fancy dinner party is the new way to tackle security and democracy in the Balkans—who knew diplomacy came with hors d’oeuvres? 🍽️ Bet they’re all just thrilled to chew on the same old topics while sipping overpriced wine! 🍷😏

Oh, nothing says “serious diplomacy” quite like a casual dinner in Brussels – I mean, who knew solving security threats was as easy as passing the bread? 🍞😏

Just what the Balkans need, a casual dinner to solve all their problems – I suppose next we’ll be inviting them for tea and biscuits to sort out security threats. 🍽️🇪🇺 Good luck with that, Kaja!
