The UN and its partners are unloading essential supplies at Gaza crossings daily. On Monday, nearly 4,000 pallets were delivered at Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem and Zikim. About 65% contained food, 12% shelter, 12% water, sanitation, and hygiene items, and 7% health and nutrition supplies. The UN coordinated five movements with Israeli authorities, facilitating three. One was approved but didn’t proceed, and another was canceled. As a result, some planned collections from Kerem Shalom were carried out without needing further coordination.
In education, partners distributed over 2,000 winter kits to children aged 12-14 and deployed 58 tents across 16 learning centers, aiming to expand space for nearly 25,000 children. Mine action partners continue clearing areas of potential explosives, with rubble removal assessments in Deir al Balah and Gaza City conducted on Monday.
In the West Bank, over 72,000 farming families need urgent aid according to a UN FAO survey. About 90% have recently lost income due to declines in production and sales. Supporting these farmers is critical to preventing a deeper crisis. FAO emphasizes the need for both cash and in-kind assistance.
Agriculture is a vital lifeline for 115,000 families in the West Bank, underscoring its importance for food security and income. The FAO’s Data in Emergencies (DIEM) survey highlights challenges such as conflict, rising costs, and access constraints. Nearly 100,000 households faced shocks like violence and job loss.
