Located in Tirana, “The House of Colors” provides a safe haven for children, women, and families affected by violence, trafficking, or exploitation.
Operated by the ARSIS Initiative and supported by the European Union, UNICEF, and the Municipality of Tirana, this community center offers emergency shelter, psychological assistance, counseling, mentoring, and guidance. It also facilitates personal development through youth clubs, creative endeavors, and community involvement.
During a visit to the center, EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, reinforced the EU’s commitment to enhancing inclusive social services, a crucial aspect of Albania’s European integration journey.
The EU Delegation in Tirana remarked that “through the EU4SocialCare program, the EU proudly supports initiatives like this that foster dignity, protection, and hope for the most vulnerable.”
“Visiting the House of Colors today was an incredibly moving experience. The love and care from the staff, along with the gratitude and resilience of the children and mothers I encountered, were profound. I witnessed the significant impact of community-based and inclusive social services. Today, I observed firsthand the dedication of individuals who embody the values of the European Union: human rights, solidarity, and non-discrimination,” said EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato. (June 13)
