Geluwe Burglars Steal €400 from Chiro Speratoker

Geluwe  (Eurotoday) – Burglars broke into Chiro Speratoker in Geluwe on December 30, 2025, stealing at least €400. Ruben Vanfleteren reported the forced entry. Police are investigating; no suspects have been identified so far.

As Nieuwsblad News reported, burglars broke into the Chiro Speratoker building in Geluwe, in the province of West Flanders, Belgium, on Tuesday evening, Dec 30, 2025.

“Around 5:30 PM, someone came by to take out the trash, and everything was still fine,”

says Ruben Vanfleteren of Chiro Speratoker.

“About two hours later, the KLJ arrived to set up for a New Year’s Eve party, and that’s when they saw that an outside door had been forced open.”

What happened at Chiro Speratoker in Geluwe on December 30?

Officials mentioned that they forced open the main door, causing serious damage. The premises were quickly secured, but the door will need to be replaced. Inside the building, the burglars stole at least €400 in cash.

Officials said that normally, the classrooms at Chiro Speratoker hold very little money. During the holidays, however, many people bought Chiro clothing. After the Christmas market, some orders were collected and paid for in the classrooms.

The roof of the classrooms also needs replacement, and the organisation has held several fundraising activities recently. The money raised for these repairs was not in the classrooms. The organisation hopes the stolen cash might be returned, but that is unlikely.

There is no sign of the perpetrators so far. Police are investigating the case and ask anyone who saw suspicious activity on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the Kloosterstraat area or the nearby Tuinwijk neighbourhood to come forward. No suspects have been identified.

Chiro Speratoker in Geluwe has faced trouble before. On May 22, 2025, unknown individuals broke into the premises on Kloosterstraat. They caused damage to a lot of materials, but no valuable items were reported stolen. The group described the incident as vandalism and asked anyone with information to contact the police.

Can’t believe they only managed to snag €400 from a place that sounds like it should be overflowing with change from all those Chiro t-shirt sales! 🤔 Maybe they were just looking for a decent Belgian waffle instead? 🍽️

  5. €400 from a place like Chiro Speratoker? I guess even burglars have a “New Year, new me” budget to stick to. 🕵️‍♂️💸
