On stage, Hogan expressed his anger about the moment “when they took a shot at my hero” following the July 13, 2024 attempt on Trump’s life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He questioned the crowd: “What are you gonna do when Donald Trump and all the Trumpamaniacs run wild on you, brother?”
Shortly after his RNC appearance, Hogan mentioned that President-elect Trump might offer him a role in his administration. Speaking on Fox News, Hogan recalled Trump saying at a New York event: “You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.”
Ultimately, Trump did not assign Hogan the role but did promote Hogan’s Real American Beer on his Truth Social network, despite not drinking alcohol himself. Trump wrote: “Hulk Hogan is doing a beer, and if he’s doing it, it must be good. Great looking can and logo. Give it a try!!!” Hogan introduced the beer shortly after Bud Light faced criticism from conservatives for partnering with a transgender influencer on Instagram.
Though they have lately encountered each other in the political arena, Trump and Hogan could have crossed paths many years earlier.
In 2007, Trump made a famous appearance at WWE’s flagship Wrestlemania 23. Hogan wasn’t with the company then but was a prominent figure in 1988 and 1989, performing at Wrestlemanias 4 and 5, both hosted by Trump in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Hogan for president!
Hogan once had his own (sort of) presidential ambitions.
