French Drivers File Lawsuit Against Tesla Citing Elon Musk’s Political Views

Tesla sales in France dropped by 67% in May compared to the same month in 2024, as reported by France’s PFA registrar. Beyond boycotts, vandals have targeted dealerships and individual Tesla vehicles, causing damage. Some clients of Terel, a lawyer, experienced vandalism, including a swastika painted on one vehicle and another defecated on. GKA filed a suit in Paris Commercial Court, seeking to void vehicle leases and compensate clients for ownership costs and other damages. The lawsuit references a French civil code article that mandates the seller ensure a peaceful use of sold goods, citing Musk’s association with the White House as an unprecedented circumstance. Musk’s initial alliance with U.S. President Donald Trump in his second term, which focused on reducing federal spending, quickly deteriorated. A commercial court judge will evaluate the case, and others may join in the meantime. Since filing, several owners have shown interest in the lawsuit.

Just when you thought the French were only good at wine and cheese, they’re now taking legal action over a car’s political baggage. Who knew Tesla was a political statement and not just a fancy way to avoid petrol stations? 😂🚗💩

Seems like the French really know how to take a ride on the wild side—who knew a car could get more vandalism than a political debate in Parliament? 😂 Maybe next time just ask for a refund in croissants! 🥐

So, it seems like a few French drivers are taking a break from their croissants to take on Musk; who knew parking your Tesla could come with a side of legal drama and a dash of vandalism? 😂 Bon appétit, gentlemen!

Oh, brilliant idea! Nothing screams “I love my car” like suing the manufacturer because the CEO has an opinion. Must be a French thing—when in doubt, just take a legal stroll in the park! 😏🚗

Oh, brilliant move, filing a lawsuit over a little political chit-chat – next, they’ll want to sue the weather for being too rainy! 🌧️ Honestly, who knew owning a car could come with so much drama? 😂🚗

Typical French, innit? Who needs a solid case when you can just throw a few swastikas and claim your Tesla isn’t “peacefully” driving around? 😂🚗💩

  7. Oh, because nothing screams “peaceful ownership” quite like a lawsuit over a car, right? 🚗💩 Guess some folks prefer their Teslas to come with a side of political neutrality, or maybe just a good old-fashioned French baguette instead of a swastika. 🍞

Looks like the French drivers are taking a page out of the ‘how to make a scene’ handbook — who knew a lawsuit could come with a side of vandalism? Honestly, if only they directed that energy into perfecting their croissant recipes instead. 🥐😏

Oh là là, who knew owning a Tesla in France would come with a side of political drama and vandalism? I suppose a swastika on your car is the new ‘je ne sais quoi’ for avant-garde art now! 😂
