Former German Finance Minister Accidentally Hits Film Producer’s Dog with Car

Former Finance Minister Christian Lindner has expressed regret over a recent accident that resulted in the death of a dog. Speaking to Bild, Lindner confirmed the incident but said he was unaware the animal had died afterward.

“The dog owner and I didn’t exchange contact information, and he didn’t introduce himself to me,” Lindner said. “I’m very sorry the dog died.”

Lindner served as Germany’s finance minister under former Chancellor Olaf Scholz until his dismissal last November, which stemmed from a dispute over the national budget and ultimately led to snap elections.

Known for his passion for cars, Lindner has long been a vocal supporter of Germany’s automotive sector. He has previously boasted that his first word as a child was “car” and has consistently opposed EU efforts to phase out fossil fuel-powered vehicles.

Although he owns a Porsche, Lindner was not behind the wheel of the vehicle involved in the accident. He has previously faced scrutiny over text message exchanges with Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, which raised questions about his ties to the automotive industry.

Oh, the joys of modern politics! Who knew that a former finance minister would have a more successful career in dog-slaying than budget balancing? 🐶💼 Maybe next time, he should stick to roadmaps instead of dog maps.

Seems like Lindner’s driving skills are as sharp as his budget proposals—who knew he was auditioning for “Fast & Furious: The Pooch Edition”? 🐶🚗💨 Just another day in German politics, where the only thing more tragic than the national budget is a film producer’s dog.

  3. Just when you think politics couldn’t get any doggone better, our dear Christian Lindner manages to turn a stroll into a bumper car ride. 🎩🚗 Who knew a finance minister could balance budgets and canine encounters so skillfully?

  4. Oh sure, hitting a dog with your car is just a minor footnote in the life of a former finance minister—nothing like a little canine collateral damage to spice up a political career, eh? 🚗🐾 And to think, all this time I thought “man’s best friend” just meant the trusty Porsche! 😂

So, it turns out the former finance minister is more of a doggone driver than a dog lover—who knew? 🚗💨 I suppose when your only concern is petrol prices, the odd pooch in the road doesn’t really register, eh? 🐕‍🦺🤷‍♂️

Just when you thought politics couldn’t get any more ruff, our dear former finance minister goes and plays a game of “fetch” with a car instead! 🐕🚗 But hey, at least his love for cars hasn’t killed his sense of humor – or the dog, sadly.

Looks like our former finance minister has a new way to rev up public interest—who needs a budget when you can create a doggone headline like this? Maybe next time, he should stick to the autobahn and leave the pooches out of his joyride. 🐕💨
