A Eurostar representative informed POLITICO that train services would resume at 7 p.m. Brussels time (6 p.m. London time) on Tuesday evening following a “partial reopening of the Channel Tunnel.” Getlink, the operator of the Channel Tunnel, stated that overnight work on the power issue would allow rail traffic in both directions to restart early Wednesday, reported BBC.
Eurostar apologized for the disruption and warned of potential delays and last-minute cancellations on Wednesday as operations returned to normal. Travelers were advised to check their journey details before going to stations.
On Tuesday, Eurostar strongly advised passengers to postpone travel if possible and avoid heading to the train station if their train had been canceled.
