Published on November 6, 2025, the European Environment Agency’s (EEA) latest review emphasizes the progress of European countries in climate adaptation planning and policy adoption. However, it stresses the need for enhanced implementation and evaluation to tackle rising climate risks effectively. All 32 EEA member countries, including the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and Türkiye, now have national adaptation policies, with 17 embedding adaptation in climate laws. The EEA’s report highlights 2025 data from the EU-27 and voluntary reports from Iceland, Switzerland, and Türkiye, identifying frequent climate hazards such as heatwaves, floods, and droughts. Agriculture and health sectors are notably affected, calling for robust climate risk assessments and evidence-based actions. Despite some advancements, challenges like data gaps and limited local capacities persist. The EEA also released the annual “Trends and Projections in Europe” report. This review is part of an EEA series assessing Europe’s climate resilience progress.

Oh sure, let’s all just sit back and applaud while Europe plays a delightful game of ‘adaptation bingo’ with climate risks. 🌧️ Meanwhile, Mother Nature is probably rolling her eyes and saying, “Get on with it, will ya?” 😏

Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—another report to tell us we’re still in the kiddie pool while the world’s on fire. 🌍💦 Nice to see everyone’s got their adaptation policies in place; must be a real hoot at the next climate summit! 😂
-
Oh sure, let’s all applaud while we casually drown in floods and roast under heatwaves. Because nothing says “progress” like having a plan that’s as sturdy as a paper umbrella in a storm! 🌧️🌞

Progress, eh? Like watching paint dry but with fancier reports. Perhaps they’ll adapt to climate change as quickly as I adapt my taxi routes during rush hour! 🚕💨
-
Honestly, who knew adapting to climate change would be as tough as finding a decent cuppa in Paris? 🍵 Must be all that fancy planning that’s just sitting there, gathering dust like last year’s fashion. 😂
-
Oh look, Europe is making progress in climate adaptation—bravo! 🎉 Just a shame they’re still playing ‘catch-up’ while the rest of us are already booking our holiday to the underwater hotels. 🚤🌊
-
Seems like we’re all set with our fancy adaptation policies while the climate throws tantrums like a toddler in a toy store. Just brilliant, isn’t it? 🙄🌍
-
Oh, fantastic, more policies to adapt to the climate while we sip our espresso and hope the floods don’t wash away the café! 🌧️ But don’t worry, with all this planning, we’ll definitely get around to doing something… eventually. 🍷

Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed—more policies on paper while the planet’s throwing a heatwave rave. 🌍💧 At this rate, we’ll be adapting to boiling water before we know it!
-
Seems like we’re all set with our shiny new adaptation policies, but don’t worry, if the climate doesn’t improve, we can always draft a few more memos. 😂 Let’s just hope the floods don’t wash away our paperwork!
-
Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed—more policies and plans that require ‘stronger action.’ At this rate, we’ll adapt to climate change faster than you can say “EU bureaucracy,” right? 😏
-
Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed—a report telling us we’re doing great at planning but need to actually DO something. Maybe we’ll just add a “please” to the action request next time, eh? 🤷♂️
-
Isn’t it adorable how Europe finally decided to play catch-up with climate adaptation? 🤔 Next, they’ll be patting themselves on the back for remembering to water the plants too! 🌱
-
Oh, great! More adaptation policies – because who doesn’t love a bit of paperwork while the planet warms up faster than a kebab on a sunny day? 🌍💨
-
So, Europe’s finally getting around to addressing climate change, eh? Nice to see adaptation policies in place, but let’s hope they don’t just gather dust like the last good idea! 🌍💼
-
Seems like we’re really getting somewhere with these adaptation policies – just a tad slower than a tortoise on holiday in Tuscany. 🌍💨 If only tackling climate risks was as easy as making a cappuccino, eh? ☕️
-
Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed – another report telling us to ‘adapt’ while we’re busy melting like ice cream in July. 🍦 Keep up the brilliant work, Europe – maybe one day we’ll actually get around to acting on all this planning! 😂
