Sarajevo, (Fena) – The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina has launched its inaugural Youth Advisory Board (YAB), comprising 15 young leaders from various regions of the country. This Board aims to establish a formalized and organized channel for collaboration between youth and the EU in BiH, enabling them to voice their opinions, ideas, and suggestions on crucial issues affecting young people.
The Board’s members hail from diverse local communities and encompass a broad spectrum of professions and interests, including young activists, engineers, students, high schoolers, youth workers, journalists, and researchers. This variety ensures that the EU’s initiatives in BiH address the diverse needs and concerns of the youth, incorporating views from socially and geographically marginalized groups.
Throughout their tenure, Board members will collaborate closely with the EU in BiH, participate in meetings and consultations, and help formulate recommendations for policies, projects, and programs focused on young people. They will also engage in discussions with institutional representatives, civil society, the business sector, educational bodies, and international organizations, advocating for the interests of all youth in the nation.
The creation of the Youth Advisory Board marks a significant advancement in reinforcing the partnership between the European Union and the youth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Board’s activities are set to commence at the beginning of next year, following an orientation event where members will be familiarized with their roles, responsibilities, and operational methods.
This initiative underscores the EU’s enduring commitment to enhancing youth participation in public life, creating a platform where young voices significantly influence the policies shaping the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina. (22.12.)
