European Security Advisers Rush to Washington Following Witkoff’s Meeting with Putin

Top European officials have urgently traveled to Washington as the United States and Russia move closer to negotiating a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

Germany’s national security adviser, Jens Plötner, arrived in Washington on Friday for high-priority discussions alongside his British counterpart, Jonathan Powell, and Emmanuel Bonne, the diplomatic adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron. The trio held a meeting at the White House with U.S. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.

The unexpected visit comes as diplomatic efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine accelerate. Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. officials agreed on the framework for a 30-day ceasefire following discussions in Saudi Arabia, placing the next move in Moscow’s hands.

Nothing says “we’ve got this under control” quite like a last-minute dash from Europe to Washington, eh? 🤦‍♂️ If only their planes were as fast as their decisions—perhaps we wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with! ✈️💼

Just what we needed—top European minds jetting off to D.C. like it’s a “who wore it better” fashion show. 😏 Can’t wait for the next episode of “As the World Turns: Diplomacy Edition”! ✈️🌍

  3. Just what we needed—top Eurocrats flying to Washington like it’s a bloody emergency meeting for the next big football match! Can’t wait to see how well that “30-day ceasefire” lasts; it’s the diplomatic equivalent of a quick espresso break. ☕️💼

Nothing says “we’re all in this together” quite like a last-minute dash to D.C. 🤦‍♂️ I suppose when your wine and cheese diplomacy starts tasting a bit sour, it’s time to hop on a plane, eh? 🛫🍷

Oh fab, nothing says ‘we’re in control’ like a last-minute flight to Washington when the big boys start playing nice. 🎩✈️ I mean, who knew that a chat with Putin would send the Euro squad scrambling faster than you can say “cheese-eating surrender monkeys”? 😂

Looks like Europe’s finest have decided that a quick jaunt to Washington is the best way to solve our little ‘border skirmish’ – because who doesn’t love a last-minute trip across the pond, right? 😂 Let’s just hope they packed their best negotiating hats and a few cups of strong coffee! ☕️✈️

Just what we needed—Europe’s finest flying over to Washington like it’s an emergency meeting about who gets the last croissant at a fancy café. 🍵 Can’t wait to see how this all plays out; maybe they’ll negotiate a ceasefire over a game of chess? 🧐

Seems like the European bigwigs finally found their passports—who knew peacekeeping required a frequent flyer program? ✈️ Honestly, it’s like watching a bunch of chefs trying to whip up a soufflé while the kitchen’s on fire! 🔥
