The European Union is gearing up to address the newly announced 25% tariffs on imported cars to the United States, as confirmed by the European Commission today.
“We have received the announcement concerning automobiles. We anticipate that a new set of US measures, as they refer to their reciprocal tariffs, will take effect next week. We regret these developments, but we are making the necessary preparations,” stated Commission spokesperson Olof Gill.
“While I cannot specify an exact timeline for when our response to these yet-to-be-implemented actions will be revealed, I can assure you that it will be timely, robust, thoroughly considered, and aimed at achieving our objectives,” he added. (27/3/2025)
