The ninth edition of Zâ Fest commenced with a blend of art, history, and music, maintaining its tradition as a festival that brings together the most distinctive voices from Albania and the Western Balkan region in a vibrant exchange between tradition and modernity.
With the backing of the European Union, this festival continues for the ninth consecutive year as a model of cultural diplomacy, where culture serves as a bridge to connect communities, promote inclusion, and enhance Albania’s European identity.
One of the standout moments from the inaugural evening was the launch of the exhibition “Me rrojt pa ik?” showcasing a nomadic collection featuring 15 paintings by emerging artists from the Adriatic-Ionian region, exploring the dreams and challenges faced by today’s youth. Albanian artist Ema Bregu offered a daring perspective on Albanian cultural heritage.
Following a night rich with stories, documentaries, and music, the celebration carried on with an abundance of musical performances. Over two nights at the Castle of Shkodra, a magical atmosphere unique to Zâ Fest was created.
The echoes from Shkodra Castle over three nights brought together celebrated artists, blending modern art with tradition on a stage alive with emotion, intimacy, and vibrant energy.
Zâ Fest is a yearly cultural initiative born from the passion of artist Vlashent Sata, which has showcased performances in significant cultural and natural heritage sites in Albania, including Rozafa Castle, the museum houses of Shkodra, and the Theth valley. (July 30)
