
Brussels (dpa) – The European Union has granted Ukraine an additional 2.3 billion euros in financial aid to support its public finances and administration, as stated by the European Commission.
Ukraine has been engaged in defense against Russia’s aggression for nearly four years.
Since the onset of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the EU and its member states have committed aid totaling hundreds of billions, encompassing military, financial, and refugee assistance.
The EU’s Ukraine Facility alone is allocated 50 billion euros, while approximately 18.1 billion euros is being provided through the Era Initiative, utilizing interest income from frozen Russian state assets held in the EU. (22 December)
