Brussels (Eurotoday) – Decathlon will open its 1st new Belgian store in 5 years in Brussels near Porte de Namur. The City store offers sports gear, bike repairs, and recruits via Decathlon Academy.
As VRT News reported, Decathlon will open its 1st new store in Belgium in 5 years. The store is set to launch in Brussels in mid-December 2025. The company already has 33 stores across the country. Most of these are large stores with equipment for many different sports.
The new Brussels store will follow Decathlon’s City concept. It is designed for urban shoppers. The store will offer a smaller, focused range of products. Customers can find equipment for running, cycling, swimming, and fitness.
What is Decathlon’s new Brussels City Store offering residents?
Shoppers can order products from the larger selection online and pick them up at the Brussels store. Orders made in the morning can be collected the same afternoon. Decathlon’s first City store in Brussels will open near the Porte de Namur metro station. The store will take over the former location of Casa, the interior design chain that went bankrupt.
“We want to see if it works. If so, we see opportunities in several other larger cities,”
says Laurens Van Deynze of Decathlon Belgium.
Alongside its range of sports equipment, the store will offer an emergency bicycle repair service. To meet this need, Decathlon has launched the Decathlon Academy. The program trains people to become professional bicycle repairers for free. Van Denze says the company plans to recruit some of these trained workers for the Brussels store.
Decathlon has previously launched innovative store projects in Belgium. In 2010, the company opened a store in Roeselare with a unique design, placing the building on stilts to create parking space underneath. In 2016, Decathlon expanded a retail park in Kuringen, adding a new store with modern safety doors and improved infrastructure.
