China and Slovenia’s Foreign Ministers Discuss EU-China Relations

Ljubljana – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Slovenia on Saturday during his European tour. Following discussions with Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon in Ljubljana, they underscored the critical role of multilateralism amid current global challenges and the importance of fostering strong EU-China relations, which they believe benefit both sides.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity of stable EU-China relations, affirming that such ties are mutually beneficial. Minister Wang expressed that Europe and China should work together as allies rather than competitors.

The discussions also covered pressing issues, including the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, along with other global matters, particularly the need for stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

Wang also had separate meetings with Prime Minister Robert Golob and President Nataša Pirc Musar. (September 13)

Oh, look at that, Slovenia and China bonding over tea and trade while the rest of us are still figuring out the best way to get our morning coffee. Multilateralism – fancy word for “let’s pretend we’re all friends” while keeping an eye on our wallets. 😏💼
