Autumn Events at Autoworld Brussels

As the leaves fall, Autoworld, the highly regarded car museum, bursts with activity: until 14 December the exhibition German Tuners from the ’80s & ’90s is on display.

From 9 to 11 October the major Aguttes auction takes place while on 16 October it welcomes the authors of L’Incroyable Histoire de l’Automobile for a book signing.

During Museum Night Fever on 18 October the doors stay open late into the night, and on 30 October it celebrates Halloween at the museum.

On top of that, from 8 to 12 October, the museum be ‘on the road’ at the Zoute Grand Prix in Knokke.

Highlights include:

  • Until 14 December, Autoworld pays tribute to the German tuners who, during the ’80s and ’90s, pushed boundaries with daring and creativity. Their cars were anything but discreet: polyester bodywork, turbo power and unconventional lines made them into icons that sparked both admiration and debate.

The exhibition presents fifteen unique cars that capture the spirit of that era, including the Koenig Specials BMW KS 635 CSI, the Strosek Ultra Wing Porsche 928 GTS and the Porsche 935 DP. A rare opportunity to see these extraordinary creations up close.

  • On Thursday 16 October, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm, Autoworld welcomes authors Laurent-Frédéric Bollée and Christophe Merlin. They will present and sign their book L’Incroyable Histoire de l’Automobile. This book traces the evolution of the car, from its chaotic beginnings in the 19th century to its status as a cultural icon. The presentation will be followed by a book signing.
For every purchase of the book at the entrance, you will receive an exclusive Autoworld bookplate and free admission to the museum.
  • From 9 to 11 October, Aguttes on Wheels returns to Autoworld. More than eighty remarkable cars will go under the hammer, including three rare Pegaso models, the very first Citroën ZX Rallye-Raid, an impressive collection of Mercedes-Benz, and several iconic sports cars from the ’80s and ’90s.

On 9 and 10 October, the cars will be on view for all museum visitors, alongside the permanent collection and the German Tuners exhibition.

The auction itself takes place on Saturday 11 October at 3:00 pm, a unique chance to experience the excitement up close.

Just what we need, a celebration of ’80s and ’90s German tuners—because who doesn’t want to relive the glory days of questionable automotive taste? 🚗💨 I can already hear the sound of some poor souls arguing over which polyester masterpiece is the most “iconic.” 😂
