Aalst (Brussels Morning Newspaper): On the night of 15 November, a car slammed into the front window of a computer store on Kattestraat in Aalst, enabling thieves to steal numerous electronic devices. Police, led by spokesperson Lisa Wynendaele, are actively investigating the case, though details of the stolen items remain undisclosed. The incident took place on Kattestraat, a bustling commercial street in Aalst. The thieves used a car to smash through the shop window, gaining access to the store where they swiftly seized several electronic goods before fleeing the scene. What Are Authorities Doing to Address the Break-in?

By the time police arrived, the culprits had already escaped. Upon inspecting the scene, officers noted extensive damage to both the door and window of the shop. “Our officers arrived and confirmed the damage to the store’s entrance,” said Lisa Wynendaele, the police spokesperson for Aalst. Authorities are now working on identifying the suspects and recovering the stolen merchandise.

Shortly after assessing the damage, the authorities contacted the owner of the computer store. Upon arrival, the store owner confirmed that several items had been stolen. However, police have yet to announce the specific items taken due to the ongoing investigation. “We cannot provide details on the stolen goods at this moment,” added Wynendaele, stressing that withholding this information is part of their strategy to track down the offenders and recover the stolen goods.

In response to the incident, local residents and shopkeepers are urging for increased security measures to prevent similar crimes in the future.
