Government Meeting on Implementing the Reform Agenda

Skopje – Today, a meeting focused on the Reform Agenda took place at the Government, attended by several ministers and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.

According to a post on the Prime Minister’s Facebook page, the meeting addressed current priorities, challenges, and future steps for advancing reform processes.

Mickoski noted that participants exchanged opinions and proposals to enhance the efficiency of implementation and improve coordination among all involved parties.

In an earlier media statement, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of completing the tasks related to the Reform Agenda, leaving the decision of whether to bilateralize the accession process to the Union.

“The Macedonian path to EU integration is inherently linked to the willingness of the 27 member states, including Bulgaria. We recognize the existing issues with them, but our focus is on completing our homework, resolving open issues regarding the Reform Agenda, and fulfilling all planned reforms,” Mickoski stated.

He further added that once these tasks are accomplished, it would be up to the 27 member states to determine whether to pursue a bilateral approach or follow the criteria established for all countries that have joined the EU. (18 January 2026)
