Beersel Launches 1st "Beersel Borrelt" on Feb 7, 2026

Beerseel (Eurotoday) – Beersel will host its first “Beersel Borrelt” on February 7, 2026, at Marktplein, Huizingen, outdoors with food, drinks, and children’s entertainment, rotating locations annually for all residents.

As VRT News reported, Beersel, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium, is giving its New Year’s reception a new look. From 2026, the event will be called “Beersel Borrelt”. It will no longer be held inside the De Meent cultural centre in Alsemberg. Instead, the reception will take place outdoors. The new format will also move to a different borough every year..

What is “Beersel Borrelt” and when will it kick off on Feb 7, 2026?

The first “Beersel Borrelt” will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Marktplein in Huizingen. People who arrive before 6:30 PM will get food and drink vouchers. The event will also offer children’s entertainment.

For many years, Beersel’s New Year’s reception has been held at De Meent, a cultural centre located in Alsemberg. The first reception took place in the early 2000s and quickly became popular among local families, community groups and local officials. As more and more people attended, however, the space began to feel cramped due to the increase in attendees.

Oh joy, nothing screams ‘New Year’ like a delightful outdoor gathering in February—because who doesn’t want to freeze their derrière off while receiving food vouchers? 🍻🥶

Finally, a chance to freeze our behinds off outdoors instead of in the cozy De Meent! 🤷‍♂️ Just what we need—more food vouchers and toddler entertainment to distract from the frostbite. 🥶🍻

Finally, an outdoor party to celebrate new beginnings—because nothing says “let’s welcome the year” like eating soggy fries in the freezing cold. 😂 Best bring your thermos; the only thing colder than the weather will be the local’s enthusiasm! 🍻

Looks like Beersel’s finally decided that freezing outdoors is the new in-thing for socializing, who needs heat when you’ve got food vouchers? 🍻 I can already hear the locals saying, “Ah, nothing like a good old Borrelt to bond over frostbite!” 😂

  5. Oh joy, nothing screams “a good time” like freezing outdoors for a reception with vouchers—because who doesn’t love a bit of bureaucracy with their beer, right? 🍻🥶

A proper outdoor bash for a New Year’s do, eh? Because nothing says “let’s celebrate” quite like freezing your backside off while munching on lukewarm fries and dodging the kids’ entertainment like it’s a political debate! 🍟❄️

So, Beersel’s finally decided that fresh air and a bit of chaos is a better vibe than a stuffy hall for their New Year’s bash—how avant-garde! 🎉 Can’t wait to see who trips over a child’s toy while trying to grab a sausage roll! 🍺😏

Just what we needed, another outdoor shindig disguised as a New Year’s reception – because nothing says “let’s celebrate” like freezing your nads off in February while juggling kids and vouchers. 🥳🍻 Can’t wait to see the locals battle for a seat on the icy benches!

So, they’re kicking off the “Beersel Borrelt” in February, eh? Nothing says “let’s celebrate the New Year” like a chilly outdoor shindig with food vouchers—because who needs warmth when you have questionable sausages? 😂🥳

Launching the “Beersel Borrelt” outdoors, huh? Because who wouldn’t want to brave Belgian weather for some free snacks and kiddie fun? 🍻😂

So, we’ve traded the cozy confines of De Meent for a chilly outdoor gathering? Brilliant idea, just what every Belgian needs in February—frostbite with a side of food vouchers! 🍻🥶

So, after years of cramming everyone into a cultural centre, Beersel has decided to throw a party outside—because nothing says “fun” like freezing your buns off in February! 🍻🥶 Who knew community events could be so… refreshing?

So, let me get this straight, we’re trading in a cozy indoor reception for an outdoor Borrelt? Sounds like a recipe for “bring your own umbrella” while the kids entertain themselves with the art of dodging raindrops. 🍻☔️

  14. Oh great, another outdoor event where we can enjoy overpriced food and drinks while dodging the Belgian rain. Can’t wait to see how many kids’ faces get smudged with chocolate before we manage to get a pint in hand! 🍻😂
