President Karol Nawrocki participated in a teleconference with European leaders alongside U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Wołodymyr Zełenski, as announced by the Chancellery of the President on Sunday evening.
The meeting between Trump and Zełenski took place in Florida on Sunday, focusing on efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. Following their discussion, both leaders connected with European leaders via videoconference, with Poland represented by President Nawrocki.
According to the Chancellery of the President of Poland, they addressed the current status of peace negotiations aimed at concluding the war instigated by Russia.
President Nawrocki highlighted Trump’s significant commitment to the peace process and expressed gratitude for the dialogue. He mentioned that since the onset of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Rzeszów-Jasionka airport has facilitated over 90 percent of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, underscoring Poland’s critical role in any forthcoming peace agreement.
The Chancellery noted that the conversation reaffirmed the necessity of involving all relevant parties in discussions regarding peace and security in the region. It remarked on the determination of the U.S. and the unified stance of European nations as pivotal to potentially concluding the conflict instigated by the Russian Federation.
After meeting with Zełenski, President Trump expressed optimism, stating that the involved parties are nearing a peace agreement, with approximately 95 percent of issues settled, leaving territorial disputes as the primary hurdle. He suggested that Ukraine should relinquish the non-occupied territories before they can be seized by Russia.
