Peace must uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity (von der Leyen)

Brussels – Ursula von der Leyen expressed support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace that upholds Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, following a phone call with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the X network.

This discussion occurred ahead of Mr. Zelensky’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump scheduled for Sunday.

“This enhances the country’s security and defense capabilities, contributing to the overall security of our continent,” the European leader emphasized.

“In 2026, the Commission will persist in applying pressure on the Kremlin, supporting Ukraine, and actively facilitating its path towards EU membership,” she added.

European Council President Antonio Costa, who also participated in the conversation with Mr. Zelensky, reinforced these sentiments. “The EU’s support for Ukraine will remain steadfast,” he noted on X. “In war, in peace, in reconstruction,” he concluded. (27 December 2025)

Oh, brilliant strategy! Just what we needed—more phone calls and promises while the world waits for a miracle. 🥳 Keep the good vibes rolling, Ursula!

  2. Oh, brilliant! Because nothing screams “sovereignty” like having a whole continent discussing your future on social media 🤷‍♂️. Let’s just hope they don’t forget to send a memo to the Kremlin this time! 🥴

So, basically, we’re all just waiting for the EU to sprinkle some fairy dust on Ukraine and magically make everything right, eh? Brilliant strategy, guys! 🙄✨

So, let me get this straight—peace talks via X network, while Zelensky preps for a meet with Trump? Brilliant, just what we need, more ‘strategic’ banter in the digital age. 🙄 #SovereigntyGoals

Great, more talk about peace and integrity—just what we needed to solve everything over a nice cup of espresso ☕️. If only sovereignty was as easy to achieve as a good croissant! 🥐

Oh, fantastic, nothing says “we’re on it” like another round of phone calls and declarations while the world watches. But hey, at least the EU’s in the business of saying nice things, right? 😏📞

Right, because nothing says “we’re serious about peace” quite like a phone call and some hashtags. Maybe next time they can send a postcard too, just to keep it personal. 😂📬

Oh, brilliant! Just what we need, more discussions and promises that sound lovely over coffee but lead us nowhere—like a roundabout in Brussels! 🌀🇪🇺

  11. Seems like a lovely chat over a cup of coffee, discussing how to uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty while the Kremlin’s just a stone’s throw away – classic EU diplomacy, innit? ☕️🧐

Looks like Brussels has found the magic wand for peace—who knew it was just a phone call away? 🙄 Keep polishing that integrity while we wait for the Kremlin to take a hint!

Looks like von der Leyen is really going for that “peace in our time” vibe, eh? Let’s see if the Kremlin gets the memo or if they’re just too busy with their game of chess. 🤷‍♂️

  14. Isn’t it delightful to watch leaders discuss peace while simultaneously scheduling more phone calls than my taxi’s got miles? Maybe if I throw in a few euros, they’ll send me a postcard from Ukraine’s “sovereignty” vacation spot. 😂✌️

Oh, splendid! Nothing says “we’re serious about peace” quite like a phone call from Brussels, right? 🙄 Keep the platitudes coming; maybe they’ll magically solve the problem while we sip our espresso!

Oh great, just what we needed: another round of diplomatic chit-chat about “upholding sovereignty” while the real drama unfolds in the background. 🎭 Might as well toss in a couple of croissants while we’re at it, eh? 🥐
