Westminster’s Role in Boxing Day Activities

Alex Davies-Jones, justice minister, describes her Boxing Day with the 3 C’s: Chocolate, cheese, and chaos. The house is bustling with people, indulgence in food and drinks, games, and singing. She hosts a competitive annual Christmas quiz, ensuring everyone has a great time.

Chris Philp, shadow home secretary, enjoys a large beef roast cooked on an outdoor BBQ. It’s slow-cooked for tenderness, with a crispy outer coating achieved at the end.

Dawn Butler, Labour MP, prepares fried rice with turkey and tomato ketchup.

Nusrat Ghani, deputy Commons speaker, hosts extended family on Boxing Day. Some prefer walking in Ashdown Forest, while others stay indoors. The turkey is enhanced with butter and curry spices, accompanied by large Yorkshire puddings, with guests offering cooking and hosting tips.

Earl of Kinnoull Charles Hay, hereditary-turned-life peer, hosts a large brunch where he is the scrambled egg chef. The dish sustains family card games afterward.

Priti Patel, shadow foreign secretary, plans to watch the King George VI Chase from Kempton Park and enjoy turkey and stuffing sandwiches.

Rhun ap Iorwerth, Plaid Cymru leader, follows a traditional Boxing Day, cooking Christmas leftovers and going for a family walk. Living on Ynys Môn offers beautiful surroundings, making it his favorite way to spend the day.

Daisy Cooper, deputy Lib Dem leader, starts with leftover pigs in blankets for breakfast, watches Wallace and Gromit in the afternoon, and takes a walk ending with a pint at the pub.

Boxing Day at Westminster sounds like a Michelin-starred episode of “Come Dine with Me,” minus the actual cooking skills. Who needs peace and quiet when you can have a culinary circus and a quiz showdown? 😂🥴

  5. Oh, the quintessential British extravaganza: nothing screams “Boxing Day” quite like a competition of who can ruin a perfectly good roast with a BBQ or a dash of tomato ketchup. 🍽️🧐 Who needs Michelin stars when you’ve got family feuds over Yorkshire puddings and a quiz that could rival a political debate?

  6. Seems like a right posh circus, innit? Who knew Boxing Day was just an excuse for a culinary competition and a family reunion masked as a festive riot? 🍗🎉

Oh, splendid! Nothing screams “holiday spirit” like a game of “who can out-cook the turkey” while fighting over the last Yorkshire pud, eh? Just what the monarchy intended for Boxing Day—chaos and culinary masterpieces! 🍗😂

Blimey, nothing says “high society” quite like a day of stuffing oneself with leftover turkey and playing quizmaster while the rest of us are just trying to survive the chaos with a few pints. 🍻 Who knew the political elite were such culinary connoisseurs? 😂
