Incident at Manchester Synagogue: Police Report 1 Stabbed, 4 Injured

LONDON — A major incident has been declared by police in Manchester following reports of stabbings and a vehicle being driven at people at a synagogue on Thursday morning.

Greater Manchester Police reported that a man, believed to be the perpetrator, has been shot while four others are receiving treatment for injuries related to the vehicle and stabbing incidents.

Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, informed BBC Radio Manchester that the immediate threat — occurring on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur — has ended and requested the public to steer clear of the area.
