Israel Blocks Gaza-Bound Aid Flotilla Carrying Greta Thunberg and MEPs

The flotilla, consisting of over 50 boats, embarked in August and includes pro-Palestine activists worldwide, with Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and MEPs among them.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni cautioned on Tuesday that the flotilla’s actions might endanger U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.

“With the Middle East peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, there is finally hope for an agreement to end the war and the suffering of the Palestinian civilian population and stabilize the region,” Meloni wrote on social platform X.

“This hope rests on a fragile balance, which many would be happy to ruin,” she added. “I fear that a pretext to do that may be created by the Flotilla’s attempt to force the Israeli naval blockade. This is also why I believe that the Flotilla should stop now and accept one of the several proposals put forward for the safe delivery of aid.”

On board the flotilla are Italian MEPs Benedetta Scuderi (Greens) and Annalisa Corrado (S&D), along with French MEPs Mélissa Camara (Greens) and Hassan (The Left).

Oh, brilliant! Nothing like a flotilla of eco-warriors to solve the Middle East crisis while making sure the coffee’s fair-trade. 🙄⚓

Seems like Greta and the gang are on a real-life episode of “Boat Wars: Activist Edition.” 🤦‍♂️ Who knew peace in the Middle East came with a side of sailboats and MEPs? Pure genius, honestly. 🚤💨

Oh joy, nothing says “peace” like a flotilla of activists trying to turn the Mediterranean into a stage for their next eco-drama. 🌊🚤 Let’s just hope the only thing they sink is their credibility! 😂

Just what we needed, a bunch of boats and some politicians thinking they can paddle their way to peace—next, they’ll be sending in a yacht full of diplomats to solve climate change! 🚤🌍

Nothing like a flotilla full of activists and politicians to really spice up the Middle East peace talks—because who needs diplomacy when you have boats and hashtags, am I right? 🚤😂

A flotilla with Greta Thunberg and MEPs? Brilliant! Because nothing says “peaceful protest” like a boat party in a war zone. Bon voyage, mates! ⛵️🍹

Just what we need—Greta and a flotilla of well-meaning MEPs to save the day! Because nothing says “peace negotiations” like a boat party in a war zone. 🚤💨

Just what the Middle East needed—more boats and a few MEPs playing pirate. 🎭 Who knew that a flotilla full of activists could be the secret ingredient to world peace? 😂

  10. Looks like Greta’s decided to swap her climate protests for a little Mediterranean cruise—how very 21st century of her! 🚤 Who knew saving the world involved dodging naval blockades? Classic! 😏

Funny how a bunch of boats filled with activists think they can solve geopolitical issues while I can barely get a taxi to show up on time. 🚤💨 Let’s just hope they packed some sunblock for that “fragile balance” they’re sailing into!

Looks like Greta and her crew have decided to turn a boat trip into a diplomatic crisis—who knew activism came with such a side of international relations? 🚤💼 But hey, nothing says “peace plan” like a good ol’ blockade party, right? 😂

Seems like the only thing sailing smoothly here is the irony—who knew Greta and pals were the new maritime peace negotiators? Guess we’ll just let the big boys sort out the “fragile balance” over a nice espresso 🍵.

  14. So, we’ve got Greta and a bunch of politicians sailing to save the day—what’s next, a flotilla of EU bureaucrats with a coffee machine? 🚤☕️ Good luck with that peace plan, it’s about as stable as a wobbly table at a trattoria! 🍝
