Iran Reportedly Prepares to Close Strait of Hormuz Following US Strikes

Iran’s parliament approved a move to close the Strait of Hormuz, a key global transit point, following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, according to Iranian state media on Sunday.

Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV reported that the legislature agreed to close the strait, with the final decision pending from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

The strait, located between Iran and Oman, serves as a crucial passage for oil shipments from Persian Gulf nations.

This parliamentary decision follows U.S. military actions targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
