Rape Investigation Against Former Tory MP Crispin Blunt Dropped

Crispin Blunt, a former justice minister, was arrested in October 2023 on suspicion of rape while serving as an MP for Reigate, Surrey. Blunt stated he was interviewed twice, with the second interview resulting in his arrest, which he deemed unnecessary as he was willing to cooperate fully, confident that the investigation would conclude without charges.

At that time, the Tory MP decided not to comment further until police investigations were completed.

He lost the Conservative whip and did not run in the 2024 election.

Surrey Police reported launching an investigation after receiving a rape report in October 2023. Extensive investigations led to the arrests of two men, one in his 60s and another in his 50s, in Horley on October 25, 2023, in connection with the case.

The statement clarified: “It’s been determined there’s insufficient evidence to proceed, and no further action will be taken against the men regarding the rape report.

“However, both men remain under investigation on suspicion of possessing controlled substances, pending further inquiries. This aspect of the investigation is ongoing.”

Just what we needed, more drama from the Tory circus – who knew ‘insufficient evidence’ was code for ‘let’s sweep this under the rug’? 🙄🍵

Just another day in British politics, where the only thing getting charged is the coffee machine. ☕️ Can’t wait for the next round of “who’s guilty?” on the political stage! 🎭

Blimey, looks like the only thing Crispin’s got to worry about now is his cocktail of substances rather than his political career. Guess the justice system’s got more important things to ponder than a little ol’ rape allegation, eh? 🍷💼

You know, nothing says “trustworthy politician” quite like a dropped rape investigation; it’s almost as if the justice system’s on a coffee break. 🍵 Just the sort of thing to make you want to vote again, innit? 🤷‍♂️

Dropped like a hot potato, innit? Guess the old saying “innocent until proven guilty” is alive and kicking in Surrey! 🍻

Another day, another former Tory MP getting a free pass – must be nice to have “insufficient evidence” as your best friend. 🤷‍♂️ Meanwhile, the rest of us are still waiting for justice like it’s a delayed train in the middle of nowhere. 🚂💨

Oh, splendid! Nothing like a good ol’ investigation to clear the air – now we can all go back to pretending our politicians are flawless, eh? 😏 #JustAnotherDayInPolitics

Just when you thought the British political landscape couldn’t get any more entertaining, we see a former MP waltz away from serious allegations like it’s just another Tuesday in Parliament. Classic! 😏

Guess he’s off the hook faster than a politician at a dodgy fundraiser! Must be nice to have a “no evidence, no problem” policy in the elite club. 😏🍷
