Brussels (Eurotoday) – Antique shop Costermans on Grote Zavel in Brussels, owned by Arnaud Jaspar-Costermans, is branching out with the launch of Café Costermans. The café, run by Valérie Jaspar-Costermans, offers a variety of fresh meals and locally-sourced beverages.
As reported by VRT News, Café Costermans is a new addition to the family business, which has a long-standing presence in Brussels. The café is set up in what was once the family’s kitchen, adding a personal touch to the expansion.
While Arnaud Jaspar-Costermans continues to manage the antique shop that carries the family name, his sister Valérie is leading the café project. The siblings decided to divide responsibilities to ensure the heritage shop remains active while introducing a new venture to attract a broader clientele.
Blending Family Tradition with Modern Taste at Café Costermans
Café Costermans emphasizes high-quality, fresh ingredients and a diverse menu. Visitors can enjoy items like pistachio brioche, homemade granola, vegetarian buns, and club sandwiches. Serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks, the café also highlights regional products, including natural wines and craft beers from independent Brussels breweries.
The café features a spacious indoor setting with seating for 50 guests, complemented by an outdoor terrace that accommodates up to 70 people. Housed in a historic family building, the café aims to combine traditional ambiance with contemporary dining. The antique shop remains operational, providing visitors with a unique blend of culture and cuisine under one roof.

Café Costermans, eh? Because nothing says “I love antiques” quite like munching on a club sandwich in a vintage kitchen! 🍽️ Who knew nostalgia could come with a side of granola? 😏

Oh, a café in an antique shop? Because what better way to enjoy your overpriced coffee than while contemplating whether that dusty vase is worth more than your monthly rent? 🤔☕️ #LivingTheDream

Oh, great! Nothing screams “fine dining” quite like munching on a pistachio brioche while surrounded by dusty relics—just what I need to feel like I’m part of history. 🍵🪑 Who knew the secret to a good café was a side of antiques?

Oh, because nothing pairs better with dusty old furniture than a side of pistachio brioche, right? 🍰 Just what Brussels needed: a café to ponder life’s mysteries while sipping on overpriced lattes among the antiques! 🧐

Oh, because nothing says “modern dining” quite like sipping a flat white surrounded by dusty old relics from your great-grandma’s attic. If the antiques don’t charm you, the homemade granola surely will! 😏🕰️

A café in an antique shop? Brilliant! Because nothing says “fresh meal” quite like dining among dusty relics and the lingering scent of grandma’s old curtains. 🍵🕰️
