Kyiv (Eurotoday) – In a massive air assault, Ukrainian military officials reported that Vladimir Putin’s forces have launched more than 150 lethal glide bombs at Ukraine in just the past 24 hours.
Is Russia preparing for a new military offensive?
According to Ukraine’s general staff, at least 153 KAB winged explosives—sometimes weighing up to 1,500 kilograms and referred to as the “building destroyer”—were dropped on Ukrainian towns and cities on Saturday.
The large-scale airstrike reportedly included nearly 100 air and missile attacks across targeted areas including Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.
An Iranian-made Shahed drone struck a military hospital in Kharkiv, an act that Kyiv has condemned as a war crime. The attack left at least two people dead and 25 others injured.
The Ukrainian general staff emphasized that the Russian army deliberately targeted a Ukrainian medical facility, constituting a war crime that bears no statute of limitations. Analysts within the Ukrainian government and military suggest that Russia is preparing for a renewed offensive along the 621-mile frontline stretching across Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.
“They are prolonging the negotiations and attempting to entrap the US in endless, meaningless debates over fabricated ‘conditions’ to gain time and pursue additional territory,”
remarked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Why did Russia accuse Ukraine of attacking energy sites?
Russian military actions in Ukraine have significantly escalated over the past two months, with increased focus on civilian infrastructure and preparation for potential new offensives. On Saturday, Russia’s defense ministry accused Ukraine of attacking Russian energy facilities within a 24-hour period, despite a mutual understanding to avoid targeting each other’s energy infrastructure.
The ministry alleged that Ukraine struck power infrastructure in Russia’s Belgorod region, resulting in power outages for nearly 9,000 residents. These claims could not be immediately confirmed by independent sources such as Reuters. Throughout the ongoing conflict, both sides have leveled new accusations of violations on a near-daily basis.
Is Russia preparing for a new military offensive?
Ukrainian government and military analysts informed The Associated Press that Russian forces appear to be gearing up for a major new military push in the coming weeks. The goal is to increase pressure on Ukraine and strengthen Moscow’s negotiating position in ongoing ceasefire talks.

Is it just me, or did Russia misunderstand the concept of “light” entertainment? 🤔 Dropping 150 glide bombs sounds less like a military strategy and more like a bad audition for a demolition show! 🏗️💥

Just what we needed, a heartfelt gift of 150 glide bombs from our friends in Russia—because nothing says “diplomatic relations” like a little urban demolition! 🎉💣 Who needs peace talks when you’ve got such generous artillery deliveries, eh?

Oh great, just what we needed—150 glide bombs to spice up the weekend! If only they could drop a few decent croissants instead, we might actually enjoy the show! 🥐💣
