
Sarajevo (Fena) – In a welcome address to the EUFOR reserve forces, Ambassador Luigi Soreca, Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Special Representative of the EU, stressed that the European Union will not permit recent progress to be endangered by the political crisis that has raised concerns about the functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Soreca noted that additional troops from the Czech Republic, Italy, and Romania have bolstered the EUFOR Althea mission in the country. He highlighted that for the second time in three years, the EU has activated portions of its reserve forces, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to maintaining security and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He underlined that EUFOR Althea plays a vital role in supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European journey by aiding local authorities in maintaining a secure environment, thereby contributing significantly to the country’s stability.
– The European Union and I rely on your dedication to fostering peace, stability, and progress for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through ongoing cooperation, dialogue, and decisive actions, we can work towards a shared vision of a prosperous, democratic, and European future for the country, – Ambassador Soreca stated.
Concluding his speech, Soreca expressed particular gratitude to the ambassadors and troops from Italy, the Czech Republic, and Romania for their crucial contributions to EUFOR, as reported by the EU Delegation in BiH. (13.3.)
