Belgian federal police carried out raids early Thursday as part of a corruption investigation linked to the European Parliament.
A spokesperson for the Belgian Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the probe, stating that authorities are investigating preliminary charges of active corruption, document forgery, and money laundering within the European Parliament.
According to the spokesperson, police searched 21 locations across Brussels, Flanders, Wallonia, and Portugal. Several individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
