Greek MEP Probed for Alleged Forgery of Signatures in Key Party Document

Under Greek law, political parties are required to collect at least 200 signatures from eligible voters to participate in elections, with allegations that some signatures were fraudulent.

“These claims are unfounded and result from fears about our party’s growth, fueled by attacks from a known vulgar political opponent in Greece,” said a party official.

Latinopoulou was expelled from the ruling New Democracy party in 2022 for body-shaming a TV host. She criticized the decision, attributing it to “woke culture.” She then established the Voice of Reason party in 2023, securing a seat in the European Parliament.

The party is characterized as a modern patriotic movement focused on preserving Greek identity and values, encapsulated in the slogan “Fatherland, Religion, Family.”

Latinopoulou aligns with policies of far-right female leaders like Marine Le Pen and Giorgia Meloni, advocating anti-abortion and anti-immigration stances, and seeks to prohibit LGBTQ+ community members from teaching.
