Danish Prime Minister: Ukraine Ensures Europe’s Security

COPENHAGEN (ANP) – “Our backing for Ukraine is an investment in our own security,” asserted Frederiksen. She emphasized the necessity of long-term funding for the Ukrainian military and expressed strong support for the European Commission’s initiative to utilize frozen Russian assets for a loan to Ukraine.

EU heads of government chairman António Costa noted that numerous proposals have emerged recently aimed at enhancing the EU’s defense capabilities, intensifying sanctions against Russia, leveraging frozen Russian assets, and establishing a drone defense system along the eastern border. He stressed that decisions must now be made.

“The European Council will reconvene in three weeks, and it will be time for action,” Costa stated. At the upcoming summit at the end of October, EU leaders will convene to make crucial decisions.

“The message is unequivocal. Russia must recognize that Ukraine’s allies, including those in Europe, possess both the will and resources to sustain support for Ukraine until a fair and enduring peace is achieved,” Costa declared.

Sure, because nothing says “European security” quite like funneling cash into a distant conflict while our own streets are still dodgy! 💸✨ Looks like we’ll need a drone defense system just to keep an eye on our wallets! 😂

Oh great, just what we need – more talks about “long-term funding” while we’re all waiting for our trains to run on time. I suppose investing in Ukraine’s military is less costly than fixing those potholes back home, eh? 😂

Oh great, just what we needed: a hefty investment in someone else’s war while our own problems pile up like dirty laundry. But hey, at least we can tell our grandkids we were “investors” in European security! 😂💸
